what - A  cultural and historical site dynamisation - Public

WHO - Botanical Garden Director

WHY - The oldest French Botanical Garden is slowly dying, the goal is to rehabilitate and revitalise the site.

HOW - To achieve this objective the plan was first to refurbish the existing pathways as well as installing periodic information points and seatings.
Second to convert the existing Orangery into a greenhouse/tea shop to financially support the garden by selling products that are all sourced on site. 
The target was to reopen the integral place to the public and provide a cultural, sensorial and scientific experience.

THE ORANGERY

what - Convert a historical building into a

teashop/greenhouse

WHY - Create a commercial area place to generate foundings for the Garden's maintenance. 

Offer a space to discover, test and take away the different  Botanical Garden species.

HOW - The 19th-century Orangery is classified as a protected building and under a lot of conditions.

To partitioned the long space and direct the visitors' flow, a slice form structure has been built up on site. This light implantation is perfectly adapted to space without changing it.

The central point is the tea shop where you can discover, try, order in or take away and also by in bulk.

The two greenhouses on each side can welcome the visitors for a dégustation in total immersion.

SEATS

WHAT - Create several seats with différent ergonomic configurations

WHY - To dynamise the whole Garden efficiently and bring back the citizens

HOW - The seat designs have been though around there potential uses and implantations. 

They play with the point of view and integration to respect the historical place. 

Some of the seats by there ergonomy and positions provide a place welcoming several users at the same time and favorise socialisation or perhaps to relax and contemplate the surrounding. 

INFORMATION POINTS

WHAT - Create and dispatch informative points along the pathways 

WHY - To introduce and sensitize the visitors to the ecosystem, ecology and the history of the Garden.

HOW - Disposed everywhere on site these panels are recreational and connected which allowed the user to discover during the visit.

3 types of panels will appear in the Garden:

- The zones signs, with history of this side of the garden, famous species, map, pictures, QR code.

- The trees and plants signs, invite the visitor to discover hundreds of species of the site trough his history, scientific aspects, explanation drawings and QR code for more information via the Garden App.
